A Welcoming Message to All Beings.

Formed in 2018
Planetship Abductions are miniature UFO sculptures that I hand make with polymer clay and epoxy resin.
As on-brand as little UFOs are for Greetings Outer Space, the idea behind the spaceships was actually inspired by a little studio decoration I appropriated together, a sparkly shenoda Christmas ornament, and a metal moon headband.
The inspiration behind the idea to make spaceships!
The first Planetship Abduction that was made!
I sculpted the UFO with polymer clay and soon after it found its way to a tester epoxy pyramid I was working on and bing, bang, boom, the Planetship Abduction was born!
The Planetships began abducting glitter, pigments, and metals but recently a wave of cow abducting Planetships have been spotted.
Once the abductions became a thing, the next logical step was to add a cow getting abducted.
My first thought was to sculpt a mini cow and drop it in the abduction. After a failed attempt at sculpting a decent mini cow, I decided to take the L on that and order mini cows online.
As you could see, the choice to buy mini cows was a good one.
Taking the Planetships to the next level, my vision was making them light-up. The idea was to make a hollow UFO that held a tea light, the tea light would face down toward the abduction lighting it up.
The first one I made was almost perfect, except the compartment was too small to fit the tea light. I used magnets to keep the lid attached.
The second version was almost perfect, but the proportions were all off. The top lid didnβt match the bottom base, and the abduction was way too small.
Iβve gotten a little distracted with other projects and still need to make the actual perfect light-up Planetship.
Stay Tuned on those!
The latest and greatest creation to come out of 2020 was the Planetship Diorama. This idea also came to me by chanceβ¦
A neighbor had posted a picture of free craft supplies in our neighborhood facebook group, I jumped at the opportunity and she says sheβd drop them off at my house. Strangely, what she had dropped off was nothing in the picture.
Most of it got trashed/donated but there were these four little circles, each with a letter on them spelling L O V E. I instantly had the idea of covering them with moss and making them the base for a little Planetship diorama!
These were super fun to shoot and photogenic, so naturally thereβs an overload of images.
